The Raven, has a feel much like District 9. The budget for The Raven was only $5000 which is quite impressive considering the amount of work and production quality of the short. They shot the short on RED using Ultraprime lenses. With the availability of more affordable high quality production equipment it will be interesting to see the future of film over the next couple years.
Today Apple launched their highly anticipated iPad tablet. It has a 9.7 inch multitouch screen with 1024-by-768-pixel resolution at 132 pixels per inch (ppi). It is an impressive 0.5 inches and 1.5 lbs. It uses a custom 1ghz A4 apple processor. The iPad runs with the same 140,000 apps which developers will be able to optimize for the larger screen. My architecture prof sent me a link to another video by this guy a couple months ago. I was amazed. This short is one of the most inspirational sequences that I have ever seen. It’s worth watching more than once.
It is done entirely in CGI using 3ds max, after effects and premiere.

The official movie trailer for Iron Man 2 just came out. Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark (aka Iron Man). Some of the moments in the first movie that I enjoyed were of the interfaces that Tony Stark used, especially the 3D interface in which Stark developed the Iron Man suit.
